Album Info: | The Union Pacific's Salt Lake Subdivision extends from the west end of the Ogden yard to the south end of the old Western Pacific's yard at Roper. Also included is a west bound line that leaves the Salt Lake City Yard and extends to the smelter at Kennecott Copper. This album will document the Union Pacific Motive power found within this extended area. An interesting mix of coal and intermodal consists with an interchange with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe via the Utah Railway Company near the Roper yard, make up a good part of the traffic. When Ogden was downgraded . . . the jobs and activities went to Salt Lake City. This makes SLC a fun and busy place to visit. |
